<b>The 2010 Winter Marathon is ready to start</b> The 22nd edition of the Winter Marathon has been presented on Friday 27 November at the Centro Porche Brescia Saottini in Desenzano del Garda. The international event, that will take place from 21 to 24 January 2010, will be the first classic competition of the new year season, following a tradition that has born in 1989. During the evening the organizing committee has presented some news and the criteria of the 2010 regularity race, that will be held on a route of 390 kms with 36 time trials and the hill climbing of 11 dolomite passes like Mendola (m. 1363), Lavazè (m. 1808), Pordoi (m. 2239) and Gardena (m. 2121) and in 2010 also Falzarego (m. 2109) and Valparola (m. 2192). The final classification will be done without considering the worst time trial for each competitor and the oldest cars shall be advantaged by a coefficient given by the age. After the positive experience in last year, even in this edition there will be four time trials at the Safety Park in Vadena (Bolzano) and, for security reasons, all the cars will be equipped by an OBU (On Board Unit) supplied by N-eXT, who will help the clerck of the course to know exactly all the cars location. The organizing committee has already booked more than 250 hotel rooms in Madonna di Campiglio to host all the competitors and has also contacted 2 clerks of the course, 1 doctor, 60 ACI-CSAI marshalls, 70 timekeepers, 1 ambulance, 2 trucks and an expert staff of about 20 components. This is the third edition organized by Vecars that also in 2010 reached the limit of 200 entries, that's the acceptable top, of course, including 12 rare pre-war cars (like Lagonda, Riley, Citroen, Delahaye, Lancia Aprilia Convertibile, etc.) and ten teams coming from abroad. All the cars and the competitors will meet on Thursday 21 January between 16.00 and 19.00 hrs at the Savoia Palace Hotel in Madonna di Campiglio for the administrative checks and scrutineering, that will take part also in the morning of Friday 22. The official "start" of the race shall be given by Ms. Jalla Detassis at 14.30 hrs on Friday afternoon and the first car shall be back in Madonna di Campiglio on Saturday morning at 01.35 hrs. On Saturday afternoon on the frozen lake (starting from 13.45 hrs) will take place both "MotorStorica" and "TAG Heuer Barozzi" trophies, the first reserved to the pre-war sports cars and the second reserved to the only first 32 classified crews of the Winter Marathon. Then, starting from 19.30 hrs of Saturday 23 January, there will be the prize-giving and, thereafter, the farewell dinner at the PalaWroom Congress Center. It is important to add that within the 200 entries, there are crews like Canè-Galliani (last year winners and 2009 italian champions) with their Lancia Aprilia built in 1938 or Sisti-Bernini (1937 Lancia Aprilia), Moceri-Raimondi, who won the TAG Heuer Barozzi Trophy in latest edition, Passanante-Messina (1938 Fiat 508 C), Gamberini-Nobili (on the same 1956 Fiat 1100/103 TV used in 2008 when they won the 20th edition), Fontanella-Malta (on third place in 2008), Fontana-Adorni, D’Antinone-Perego, Rapisarda-Tarenzi (Lancia Fulvia 2C built in 1965), Fabbri-Bertieri and Gaspare Margiotta (on third place in 2009 with his brother) this year with Bruno Perno on their 1965 Morris Mini Cooper. Many brixian crews will try to win the race starting from Fortin-Pilè, Riboldi Guerini (Fiat 508 S Morettini built in 1936), Valseriati-Sabbadini, Rampello-Bignetti and Cibaldi-Costa. Also Emilio Gnutti will participate accompanied by Dario Bianchi (1968 Porsche 911 S), and then Beatrice Saottini representing Porsche Brescia Center with one of the over 60 Porsche cars that entered the event, Carlo Ubbiali (motorcycle champion of the 50s) and the beautiful Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB drived by Norberto Ferretti. In the race also the personalities representing official sponsors: Centro Porsche Brescia Saottini, Fred Mello, Pineider, Barozzi, Distillerie Sari, Barclays, Barbiero, APT Madonna di Campiglio, Luxury, Dimmidisì and Ge.Fin. During the 26th edition of "Auto e Moto d'Epoca" in Padua from 23 to 25 October all drivers and enthusiasts had met the Vesco family and confirmed their participation with rare and beautiful cars such as Jaguar E-Type, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gullwing", Chevrolet Corvette C1, Lotus Cortina MkI and also some fine models as Fiat 500 A "Topolino", Volkswagen Maggiolino, Bmw Isetta and Bmw 700, Fiat Abarth 850 TC Nurburgring.
