Winter Marathon 2020 – 32nd edition

450 kilometres, 65 timed trials, 6 average speed trials, 13 Dolomite passes tackled over 2 stages

Andrea Belometti and Massimo Bettinsoli are the winners of the 2020 Winter Marathon, competing in a 1937 Fiat 508 C.

The Scuderia Brescia Corse representatives, who delivered a very consistent performance while always remaining among the leading positions, prevailed with a total of 380 penalties over the young Edoardo Bellini and Roberto Tiberti, also in a 1937 Fiat 508 C (with 388), while third place went to Barcella-Ghidotti in a 1963 Porsche 356 C Coupé with a total of 478 penalties.

Among the teams, victory went to Franciacorta Motori, which placed 3 crews in the top 11; followed by Brescia Corse and Emmebi 70. Emanuela Cinelli and Giulia Rampini won the special classification reserved for female crews in a 1959 Porsche 356 A Coupé, while the best all-foreign crew was the German pairing Christian von Hofmann and Kuno Werner in a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle. The first Under 30 crew was Zeno Mion and Nadia Guidoccio in a 1964 Fiat 850 S.

First in the special Average Speed Trials classification were Mazzoleni-Carrara in a 1963 Porsche 356 SC Coupé, with 12 penalties over the 6 scheduled trials; followed by Ruggeri-Ruggeri (1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III) and Aghem-Conti (Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.2, 1965), both with 13 penalties.

In the Eberhard Trophy on the frozen lake, open to the top 32 classified crews, victory went to Edoardo Bellini and Roberto Tiberti in a 1937 Fiat 508 C, who delivered an excellent performance and made up for the disappointment of narrowly missing victory in the Winter Marathon. In a fiercely contested final, repeated after a tie in the first attempt, the young crew prevailed with a net time of 51″.00 over Fabio and Marco Salvinelli, who had also been major protagonists of the night race, finishing fourth in their 1954 Fiat 1100/103. In the final for 3rd-4th place, Bonetti-Lanzini (Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce, 1971) defeated the young debutants Andrea and Carlo Battagliola (Porsche 356 C Coupé, 1964).
