Aliverti and Merlo have won the 37th edition!

With a big surprise close to the end the crew from Mantova prevealed on the crews from Brescia Turelli-Turelli and Salvinelli-Salvinelli

With a dramatic twist at the end of the race the duo from Mantova, driving a 1937 Fiat 508 C, secureing a prestigious victory in this challenging edition of the Winter Marathon with the participation of 130 cars, representing 17 automotive brands and 8 nations.

For Alberto Aliverti this is the third victory in the event, a much-sought-after success achieved thanks to a consistent performance, largely due to experience and unwavering focus during the 65 time trials organized by the organizers. All trials were valid for the final classification and allowed Aliverti and Merlo to prevail by over 20 penalties against Lorenzo and Mario Turelli of Scuderia Brescia Corse, driving a 1937 Lancia Aprilia. The Turelli duo narrowly overtook Fabio and Marco Salvinelli (Scuderia Nettuno) in the final trial, with the Salvinellis driving a 1938 Fiat 508 C.

There was disappointment at the finish line in Piazza Righi for the Bellini-Tiberti team, the reigning champions who had led for much of the race but made a significant counting error in the final trials. This mistake relegated them to a 6th-place finish, just behind Guido Barcella with Ombretta Ghidotti (4th place) and Nicola Barcella with Simone Rossoni (5th place), both teams driving a 1938 Fiat 508 C.

In the special categories noteworthy achievements include Barcella-Rossoni victory in the Under-30 classification and Emanuela Cinelli and Luisa Deleuse Bonomi (Brescia Corse) win in the Ladies’ Cup, driving a 1969 Innocenti Mini Cooper Mk II. Among foreign teams, first place went to Portuguese drivers Duarte Freitas and Ana Margarida Dias in a 1974 MG B Roadster while Mauro Argenti and Roberta Amorosa of Scuderia Milano Autostoriche triumphed in the Regularity Tests category in their 1969 Porsche 911 T.

In the team standings Franciacorta Motori clinched another victory, thanks to the placements of the two Barcella teams (4th and 5th overall) and Bellini (6th). They edged out Brescia Corse and 0-30 Squadra Corse.

This 37th edition of the Winter Marathon concluded successfully at midnight in Piazza Righi with the arrival of the cars. The event was made possible by the efforts of the organizing staff, timekeepers and race marshals stationed along the course, which this year was longer than ever at 540 km. All 65 precision time trials and 6 aregularity tests (with 22 secret detections) were completed and validated despite the typically cold temperatures, which were milder this year compared to previous editions.
